Zeno Forensics provides consent-based Android and iOS examinations for corporate legal, compliance, internal-audit, HR and incident-response teams. We start by defining the question, the documented consent, the device relationship and the information that is relevant to the matter.
Start before the device is handed over
For a company-owned device, a BYOD device or a device offered voluntarily in an investigation, the facts that matter are different. Before acquisition, the organisation and the device user should be clear about the permitted access, the purpose of the examination, the relevant time period, the people handling the evidence and the intended outcome.
That conversation is not paperwork for its own sake. It is how a focused examination avoids unnecessary collection and makes later review easier to explain.
Where a mobile examination can help
The work may support a defined investigation into suspected fraud, employee misconduct, unauthorised disclosure, conflicts of interest, policy breaches or a mobile element of an incident-response matter.
It is not a general employee-monitoring service. The request must identify an authorised investigation purpose and a consent path that is appropriate to the device and the individual involved.
A report for the decision, not a data dump
The intended handover is a reviewable record of the work performed:
- the agreed question and scope;
- the relevant evidence references and handling record;
- findings tied to the available artifacts;
- interpretation where it is warranted; and
- limitations, gaps and alternative explanations that affect the conclusion.
Your legal, HR, compliance or security team remains responsible for the organisational decision. The examination gives that team a clearer factual basis for it.
Protect the inquiry as it proceeds
Before work starts, agree who can instruct Zeno, who can see the work product, where evidence is processed, and how long it is retained. The website is not an evidence-transfer channel: do not upload device data, chat exports or credentials here.
The storage, access, handover and deletion arrangements should be set out for each engagement, rather than implied by a generic privacy statement.
What we will not do
Zeno does not offer covert access, unauthorised surveillance, universal unlocking or open-ended review of a personal device. Support depends on the device, operating system, state, available access and the method that can be used within the agreed scope.
